Protests continue on MU campus demanding response
ABC 17 News is talking to protesters who are still at camped out on the University of Missouri campus, trying to get rid of UM System President Tim Wolfe.
They say Wolfe has dropped the ball when it comes to the school’s marginalized students.
After racial slurs were used on campus earlier this fall, protesters tried to speak to Wolfe during the homecoming parade. They say he missed an opportunity to reach out to people who need to be included more than ever.
Ayanna Poole said, “as the UM system president, you have so much power in that moment, you know what I’m saying, so much power in that moment to just get out of your vehicle and let your students know that you actually do care.”
Demonstrators are also selling supplies to students who want to boycott stores or restaurants that generate profit for MU.
