Three people injured in jail van crash

Three people were injured Thursday night when a vehicle crashed into a jail van in Moniteau County.

It happened on Highway 5 near Highway 50 south of Tipton. The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office tells us a car hit the back of a Morgan County Jail van taking four inmates to that facility in Versailles. Sheriff Jim Petty said two of the inmates and one sheriff’s deputy went to a Jefferson City hospital for minor injuries.
