Car hits house in northwest Columbia

Authorities are looking for the driver of a car that ran into a home on Creasy Springs Road early Friday. The crash happened shortly before 3 a.m. in the 2300 block.

No one was hurt, but the driver left the scene. Police have not been able to locate the car or the driver.

The crash knocked out power to three homes; Columbia Water and Light crews were able to restore power to the homes within an hour.

The car hit and damaged a sewer line.

The homeowners in the affected houses said they believe this incident has brought to light speeding issues along Creasy Springs Road.

They said while the speed limit is 35 mph, many people go much faster and because there are families with pets and children, the speed is too dangerous.
