Rain returns Friday night, lasts into Halloween

Much of Friday will be cool with increasing clouds through the afternoon. A robust area of low pressure approaches from the southwest beginning Friday night, bringing rain into Mid-Missouri between 6-8 p.m.

Rain continues overnight into the first half of Saturday, with low pressure exiting to our east by evening, allowing showers to taper off by the time Trick or Treat rolls around on Halloween night.

There may be a few lingering showers along and east of Highway 54 by 6-8 p.m., but forecast models take low pressure further east Saturday night, keeping us dry for Sunday.

The highest rain totals will be along and south of I-70, with those areas picking up between 0.5″ to 0.75″ of rain between Friday night and Saturday evening. Areas north of I-70 in the Highway 24 corridor will receive between 0.25″ and 0.5″, and between 0.75″ and 1″ along the I-44 corridor, including the St. Louis area.
