Federal charges filed for suspect arrested in Jefferson City shooting
ABC 17 News learned one man is now facing federal charges for a shooting reported two weeks ago in Jefferson City. A grand jury indicted Leroy Spinks on Wednesday, claiming he was caught with an illegal gun.
Neighbors heard six to eight shots earlier this month on October 14 near Atchison and Monroe streets, southwest of downtown.
Police pulled over a suspect car, where officers found guns and drugs. One person was released, but two other people were also arrested – Elijah Sullivan and Loretta Lewis.
Investigators believe Sullivan is also the same gunman who shot a victim August 30, putting three schools in the area on lockdown.
