Two men are in jail Monday, accused of statutory rape of a minor.

Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested 42-year-old Brent Gibson and 26-year-old Lucas Pickering Sunday.

Authorities said the investigation started Saturday, October 24, after a 14 year old female reported to the Fulton Police Department that she was taken to a hotel in Kingdom City, Missouri. The teen apparently told authorities she was supplied narcotics and alcohol. The female also reported that while at the hotel, she was subjected to sexual intercourse with the two arrested suspects.

On Saturday, authorities executed a search warrant at a hotel in Kingdom City. There they said they found narcotics and drug paraphernalia. During the search warrant execution, authorities apparently took Gibson and Pickering into custody.

The 14-year-old has been released to the custody of the state Children’s Division.

Both Gibson and Pickering remained at the Callaway County Jail on $50,000.00 cash bond Monday.

Gibson is charged with statutory rape, endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of third degree assault, possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

Pickering is charged with second degree statutory rape, endangering the welfare of a child, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of drug paraphernaliaand supply alcohol to a minor.

The investigation is ongoing and authorities say more charges are possible.
