High Pressure Takes The Wheel Sunday and Monday

Today, Mid-Missouri was left under thick cloud cover after a cold front pushed through the region Friday. Tonight, skies will clear up, and high pressure will move in. This will yield a dry weather pattern with the return of sunshine to the forecast for Sunday and Monday.

As the blanket of clouds shifts to the east, it will allow for more radiational cooling overnight, causing temperatures to dip into the lower 40s. We’ll continue to see high temperatures near normal through Monday, with highs in the mid 60s.

High pressure will not be in control for long, however. Remnants of Hurricane Patricia will begin to move northeastward into our region by Monday night, where it will interact with an upper-level trough over the Central Plains. This will provide enough moisture for widespread rain on Tuesday.
