Suspect on the loose following shots fired on Quail Drive in Columbia

Columbia police searching for the suspect who allegedly fired shots on Quail Drive on Tuesday afternoon.

A witness told ABC 17 News he was outside when a man walked into the street near a group of mailboxes and started shooting at a car, then took off on foot. He was last seen running north on Nelwood Drive.

Police said one of the bullets went through a window of a home, hitting the metal frame and causing the glass to break. A victim inside was cut by glass.

No other injuries were reported. The suspect is described as a black man in his late teens to early 20s, 5’9″ with a stocky build, last seen wearing a t-shirt and shorts.
