Suspect on the loose after robbery at Columbia convenience store

Police are looking for a suspect Tuesday after a robbery at a Columbia convenience store. It happened just after 4:30 Tuesday morning in the 2500 block of Rangeline Street at the Casey’s store.

Police said they were dispatched for a law alarm.They said an investigation revealed a male suspect forced his way into the business. Police said two employees were present at the time.

The suspect apparently demanded money before running offin an unknown direction of travelwith an undisclosed amount of cash.

No one was hurt during the robbery. Police said The amount of property damage is unknown at this time and the investigation is on-going.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’10” tall, weighing approximately 200 lbs and last seen wearing dark colored clothing.
