One in custody after high-speed chase in Fulton

Fulton police arrested 25-year-old Charles Pearl Friday after he apparently led them on a high-speed chase.

Police and the MUSTANG Drug Task Force were preparing to execute a narcotics search warrant on Nichols Street. Authorities were informed Pearl was driving on Ravine Street. Officers tried to pull him over, but Pearl refused to stop. Police say the car crashed into a patrol car on Court street, causing minor damage. The car also struck two other parked cars in the area.

Police say Pearl then took off on foot toward a home on 3rd and Market Street. Police caught up with and took him into custody.

A 2-year-old child was also found abandoned in the suspect vehicle. Police say the child is in good condition.

Pearl also had two active warrants out of Boone County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said it assisted Fulton police and Callaway County deputies in the chase.

Fulton Police Chief Steve Myers said no one was injured in the chase.
