Road closed after crash involving multiple vehicles in west Columbia

Emergency crews responded to the scene of a crash in west Columbia around 11:30 Monday morning. It happened by Worley Street and Fairview Road near the mall. ABC 17 News confirmed two people were taken to the hospital, but their injuries appeared non life-threatening.

A red car was involved, along with a bucket truck from CenturyLink, which had rolled onto its side. More details on the cause of the wreck are not immediately available.

Boone County Joint Communications said the road was closed for “an unknown time frame” due to the incident. It is asking drivers to avoid the area.

At least 10 units from multiple agencies responded to the scene including the Columbia Fire Department and University Hospital ambulance services. Columbia police tweeted that multiple vehicles were involved in the crash. You can see the truck overturned on its side in one of the pictures.
