Columbia man arrested for attempted abduction

A Columbia man is in jail after Boone County Sheriff’s deputies say he tried to kidnap a teenager Friday afternoon.

The incident happened in the 7400 block of Highway VV.

Deputies say Anthony Davis, 25, assaulted a 17-year-old girl and tried to pull her into his vehicle just before 5 p.m.

The girl was able to fight off her attacker and give a description of Davis and the car he was driving.

Davis was pulled over in the 2100 block of Paris Road and arrested for third degree assault and attempted kidnapping.
