Rain chance and falling temperatures Tuesday

A cold front will move through mid-Missouri during the day Tuesday, bringing clouds, a chance of showers and much cooler air Tuesday night. Showers will develop in northern Missouri by daybreak behind the cold front and push south through the day.

Spotty, light showers are expected near HWY 24 by 11 AM, moving south to near I-70 from 1 to 3 PM. These will be hit and miss and will decrease as they move south of I-70 through early evening. Rainfall amounts up to a quarter inch are possible north with lower amounts south.

Northeasterly winds will increase to near 15 mph Tuesday afternoon as the cooler air moves in. Temperatures will stay mild through the evening but fall through the 50s overnight with decreasing clouds.

The remainder of the work week will be dry with cool nights in the 40s and days in the 60s.
