Miller Co. woman accused of murder appears in court

A woman charged in a January 2009 murder appeared in court Monday in Miller County.

39-year-old Emily Usnick is charged with second degree murder, endangering the welfare of a child, abandonment of a corpse, and possession of a controlled substance.

Prosecutors said the murder happened on January 1, 2009.

Usnick appeared in court for a motion hearing on Monday, where she filed a motion to separate the murder charge from the drug charge.

Usnick’s murder trial is scheduled to begin in July 2016.
