Hazelwood man dies in boat crash at Lake of the Ozark

Two people were injured and one man is dead after two boats collided in the Osage Arm just after 7 o’clock Saturday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Edward Sandt, 62, was driving a fishing boat out of a cove and crossed the path of another watercraft.

The boats collided and Sandt was thrown from the boat. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sandt’s brother was the passenger in his boat and was transported to University Hospital in serious condition.

The driver of the second watercraft was transported to Lake Regional Hospital with minor injuries.
