Candidate for governor withdrawing from 2016 race

Republican candidate for governor Randy Asbury announced he is withdrawing from the 2016 gubernatorial race.

Asbury, from Higbee, said the campaign experience has been positive for him and his family.

“We have no regrets but must bring the campaign to its end,” said Asbury.

He said, “We would like to thank everyone who supported us along the way. This is not the end but a new beginning as God takes our efforts of the past few months and moves us into a new season.”
