Video surveillance shows man suspected in two armed robberies

Law enforcement agencies are looking for a man who robbed two businesses at gunpoint Saturday night.

At 7:40 p.m. the Callaway County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call for an armed robbery at the Day’s Inn in Kingdom City.

Deputies say a man, whose picture was captured by the hotel’s video surveillance, walked into the lobby, displayed a gun and stole an undisclosed amount of money from the hotel desk.

The suspect took off from the hotel traveling northwest on foot.

Just over an hour later, at 8:49, police say the same suspect robbed the Eagle Stop gas station on Providence Road in Columbia.

Similar to the first robbery, Columbia Police said the man showed a handgun and took money from the cash register. He then took off in a dark colored passenger vehicle traveling north on Providence.

No one was injured in both incidents.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office or Columbia Police Department.
