No injuries after home fire in Jefferson City

A woman and her three children managed to escape from their burning home without getting hurt early Tuesday. Firefighters got a call about the fire shortly before 1 a.m. and responded to the 1400 block of Boss Terrace Drive.

They found smoke coming from the home and fire inside the kitchen. Firefighters had the fire out within 10 minutes. The woman living inside said she was woken up by the smoke detectors going off, and was able to get her three children out safely.

The cause of the fire has not been determined. The home suffered heavy damage to its kitchen on the first floor, and smoke damage throughout the house.
