Late-week storm chances

Most of the work week will be dry and warm but changes move in Thursday night as a cold front gets closer. Out ahead of the front, storms are expected to develop in northwestern Missouri Thursday night, affecting mainly areas north of I-70.

Storms will continue into Friday morning then taper off to isolated storms through the afternoon. A more organized line of showers & storms will form ahead of the cold front in northwestern Missouri and move southeast through Mid-Missouri Friday evening and overnight, moving to near I-44 and out of the area by early Saturday morning.

Rainfall amounts from Thursday night through Friday night will range from a half to three quarters inch near I-44, increasing to 1-2 inches north of I-70. Please check back through the week for updates and more specific times on when storms will move in.
