Motorcyclist hurt in crash in Jefferson City

A motorcyclist was taken to a hospital after getting rear-ended on Highway 50/63 near Schott Road.

According to police, the motorcycle’s driver was slowing to turn onto Schott Road from Highway 50/63 when a Mazda hit the bike from behind. The motorcycle’s driver was thrown off, and the bike slid into a drainage ditch, where it caught fire.

The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet, but needed to be taken to a hospital for treatment. The Mazda was damaged in the crash, but the driver wasn’t hurt.
