Road work shuts down street northeast of Columbia

Major road work has shut down a street northeast of Columbia.

Part of Mexico Gravel Road is closed right now for construction.

Another section is shutting down Friday. Boone County crews are renovating the road, which involves digging.

They will also replace some culverts and put down new asphalt.

The entire project should be done at the end of September.

The work is happening between Route PP and Highway Z.

Drivers are urged to take alternate routes.
