Man arrested, accused of nearly shooting brother

ABC 17 News confirmed a suspect was booked in the Boone County jail Wednesday for a shooting in August just north of Columbia.

Jahme Cartez Taylor, 21, was transported from St. Clair County jail across the river from St. Louis in Illinois. Taylor is accused of nearly shooting his brother during a fight early August 3 in a home off Teresa Drive, near Oakland Gravel Road and the Boone County fairgrounds.

ABC 17 News got court documents claiming his brother was cooking in the kitchen when he turned around and saw Taylor pointing a gun at his head. Investigators say Taylor then fired right before his brother moved his head. The bullet went through a cabinet.

Taylor was arrested for charges of first-degree domestic assault and armed criminal action.

Taylor is being held on a $200,000 bond.
