Gov. Nixon’s son arrested for another DWI
Gov. Nixon’s youngest son, Willson, was arrested over the weekend for his second DWI in Columbia in less than six months.
Police records show Willson Nixon, 25, was booked into the Boone County jail early Sunday, before bonding out. Police claim he was pulled over around 3 a.m. Sunday for driving with no headlights on near Locust and College avenues.
During the police stop, officers said he side-swiped a parked car, and they could see and smell that Nixon was intoxicated. He also has a restricted driver’s license.
Willson Nixon was last arrested for suspicion of driving drunk near Broadway and Providence May 1, after he was stopped for a red light violation and officers allegedly smelled alcohol.
Willson Nixon was also cited for having marijuana in 2011, but the charges were later dropped for an apparent lack of evidence.
