Woman shot in central Columbia
Columbia police say a woman has been shot in the central part of the city.
The shooting happened in the 600 block of Lyon Street, but officers had Park Ave blocked off.
Around 8:45 tonight, police were called to Park Avenue and Fifth Street in Columbia. Neighbors tell ABC 17 News a “pregnant woman” has been shot.
Police say the 20-year-old victim was taken to the hospital by private car. ABC 17 News is told her injuries are non-life threatening.
Multiple shell casings were recovered at the scene. Officers also found a bullet hole in an apartment door on Park Avenue.
There is no suspect information being released at the moment.
