Trial date set for woman accused of causing deadly pedestrian crash

A trial date has been set for a 17-year-old woman who is accused of causing a deadly accident.

A Boone County judge Wednesday scheduled an October 1 trial for Ashley Moore, who is charged with operating a motor vehicle in a careless manner involving an accident.

The crash happened in October 2014 on Rangeline and Elleta in Columbua.

Moore allegedly failed to stay in her lane, causing her to over correct, lose control of her car, and hit two people who were walking.

One woman was killed in the crash.

Columbia Police determined in March there was no evidence to suggest another vehicle was next to Moore, swerving to avoid crashing into her. That goes against her statement on what happened the day of the crash.
