Neighbors next door told ABC 17 News they heard one gunshot and saw Patton come outside bleeding. They said they helped wrap up the wound.

Clint Timbrook, a neighbor, said, “I was just inside my house and heard a gunshot. So we stepped outside and I saw my neighbor come out on his porch with a gunshot to his leg. I don’t know what they were arguing about, but we heard him screaming. And then his wife came out saying he got shot and we saw him laying on the ground in a pool of blood. So we tied his leg up and his wife called 911. Not long after the paramedics picked him up and took him to the hospital.”

Coy is being held on a $50,000 bond at the Callaway Co. Jail.

Patton was taken to a Columbia hospital for his injuries, and police were checking on him Monday afternoon.
