Jobs could be outsourced at Lincoln University
Some Lincoln University workers could soon have to re-apply to keep their jobs.
A university spokesperson confirmed to ABC 17 News Monday that the Board of Curators will soon hear a proposal to outsource buildings and grounds services.
The decision would impact 41 workers and 46 positions total if approved.
In a statement, a university spokesperson said, “As part of the negotiation process, it is our goal that anyone interested in continuing as part of the Lincoln University family will be considered for employment with the selected vendor.”
The university said it already uses outside vendors for some dining, campus bookstore, and technology jobs.
Officials said they have not yet determined a time frame for the transition.
