Moniteau County authorities unable to find two suspects in Thursday manhunt

Moniteau County authorities were unable to find two suspects in a Thursday Manhunt.

Officials with the sheriff’s department said it started when deputies tried to pull over a vehicle near Clarksburg. The vehicle apparently refused to pull over and a chase started.

Officials said the vehicle then pulled into a field off Bahner Quarry Road, near Elmers Road, and two suspects jumped out of the vehicle and ran. The Moniteau County Sheriff’s Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects.

Authorities said later in the day someone reported that the suspects were near Elmers Road and Highway 5. Authorities then used a K-9 unit and a helicopter to search the area, but were again unable to find the suspects.

Officials said they have identified the suspects. They believe the two were picked up and are no longer in the area.

The sheriff’s department said it plans to seek charges against the suspects. They are checking locations the suspects are known to be at and said the investigation is ongoing.
