Columbia police investigate three early morning shots fired incidents

Columbia police responded to three separate reports of shots fired early Sunday morning.

At 1:12 a.m., officers responded to Brown Station Road and Premier Lane for a report of shots fired. Officers found shell casings near Brown Station Road and Sherwood Drive. No one was hurt and there was no property damage.

Neighbors tell ABC 17 News they heard several shots fired just hours after they heard people arguing outside.

At 3:00 a.m., officers responded to the Waffle House at 904 Vandiver Drive for a disturbance. Police said several shots were fired in the parking lot during a fight between several people. Officers found shell casings near the business, but there was no property damage. No one was hurt.

Police said one suspect vehicle was a white SUV.

At 3:21 a.m., police responded to the 400 block of Pershing Road for a report of shots fired. Police said a man confronted a woman in her home. He left, came back shortly after and started shooting what looked like a pellet gun at the woman from across the street. No one was hurt.

Police said the man is described as a younger black man, wearing a white tank top and shorts.

Damage from a fourth possible shooting was discovered at the Colonial Village mobile home park near the 2900 block of Rangline Street.

Sylvia Sprinkle woke up Sunday morning to find her tire slashed. Just down the street her neighbor’s home had a bullet go through multiple interior walls. The woman said was sleeping on her couch, just below where the bullet entered her home.

“In the last eight months this place has gotten worse,” said Sprinkle. “I’m just afraid an innocent is going to get hurt. That’s my biggest concern. We have children around here.”

Police found two shell casings near the entrance of the neighborhood.
