Weekend heat, humidity & storm chances

Most of the weekend will be dry and hot but there are slight storm chances in parts of Mid-Missouri. Saturday will start off with mostly sunny skies and rising temperatures to near 90 by afternoon. The humidity will make it feel more like 94 to 98 in the afternoon hours Saturday with light west to southwesterly winds.

A warm front moving across northern Missouri could spark isolated t-storms late Saturday afternoon and early evening. Areas north of I-70 have the best chance of a late-day storm. Any storms that develop could become strong with an isolated threat of damaging wind to 60 mph or large hail. These will weaken after sunset.

Overnight, we are watching for a possible cluster of storms in Iowa sliding southeast into northern Missouri after midnight through early Sunday morning. These storms would affect areas north of I-70 and east of HWY 63 through early morning Sunday.

Sunday will be hot with mostly sunny skies in the afternoon and high temperatures at 90-92 and heat indices as high as 98 degrees due to typical summertime humidity.
