Slight rain chances this weekend

The ridge of high pressure aloft which brought the heat & humidity earlier in the week has retreated to the west which allowed slightly cooler and less humid air to move in. High temperatures will stay in the upper 80s Thursday but slowly climb into the lower 90s by Sunday.

The winds above 3000 feet will come in from the northwest Friday through Sunday which will steer fast moving waves of low pressure through the region. Forecast models indicate these will periodically produce showers & t-storms as they move through Mid-Missouri.

There is a chance of storms Friday night mainly north of I-70 as one of these waves moves through. There is also a chance of storms late Saturday night through Sunday north of I-70. The afternoons look dry and hot at this time.
