Man found dead on porch in Mexico

Mexico Public Safety confirmed to ABC 17 News a man was found unresponsive Monday morning in the 900 block of Trinity St.

Officials confirmed 36-year-old Robert Birkner of Montgomery City was visiting with friends while on a furlough from the Montgomery County Jail.

Birkner was due to report back to jail on Monday.

Investigators said there was no indication of violence, but they’re still looking into Birkner’s activities before his death.
