Rainfall Outlook

Heavy thunderstorm activity in June brought excessive rainfall and flash flooding throughout the month across Mid-Missouri. June itself came in a the 12th wettest June on record for Columbia, and the top wettest June for St. Louis.

Mid-Missouri was finally allowed some dry time during the start of July, by we may not be out of the woods yet. The climate prediction center is projecting above average rainfall once again for the month ahead. Columbia has already picked up 4.05 inches of rainfall at the regional airport for the month of July; 2.24 inches above average. Columbia has reached 24.47 inches of rainfall since Jan 1st, putting us at a 1.64 surplus for the year so far.
