Heavy rain, flooding possible through Wednesday

A slow moving cold front will bring rain overnight Monday through early Tuesday with 1-2″ possible. Rain will end by late afternoon Tuesday as it moves to the southeast and out of Mid-Missouri.

The cold front will stall in southern Missouri Tuesday evening then turn around as a warm front and move north Wednesday morning. Showers and t-storms are expected to develop ahead of the warm front late Tuesday night in southwestern Missouri and track to the northeast ahead of an area of low pressure. Showers & t-storms with heavy rainfall are expected Wednesday morning through afternoon with another cluster of storms possibly Wednesday night.

Rain amounts through 7pm Wednesday will range from 2 inches north of I-70 to 5 inches south. Flooding of streams and small rivers, low water crossings and low lying areas is possible.
