Mid-Missouri woman turns herself in for embezzlement
A Mid-Missouri woman faces charges after turning herself in for embezzlement.
Morgan County deputies said Melissa Owsley stole more than $140,000 from the County Health Center.
Deputies have been investigating the theft since May. They said they found several discrepancies in the health center’s financial records dating back to 2013.
Further investigation apparently led them to Owsley, who worked at the center as a clerk.
She later admitted to stealing the money.
