Governor Nixon enforces no-wake order at the Lake of the Ozarks
Governor Nixon Thursday announced a no-wake order due to flooding at the Lake of the Ozarks.
After the Lake Area picked up several inches of rain over a short period of time, the Lake of the Ozarks has risen above full pool, and flood gates have been open since Wednesday.
Officials said by Saturday, water released from the Bagnell Dam will take the lake level below 661 feet so that order can be lifted.
The policy covers the entire lake, meaning boats will have to drive at idle speed due to the increased risk of damage to docks, boats, and shorelines from large wakes.
Ameren is warning those at the lake and along the Osage River to turn off electricity running to their docks or anything else under water.
