Cole Co. cleans up after flooding, storm damage

The southern portion of Mid-Missouri was also hit hard by severe thunderstorms that brought wind damage and flooding Wednesday night.

Several road repair projects were underway Thursday in Cole and Moniteau counties.

Extremely heavy rain fell in California where flood waters from Weineke Branch shut down a bridge and destroyed a section of road.

Bulldozers had to come in and fix it before it could open up again.

Waters from north Moreau Creek and the Burris Fork destroyed electric fences and also pulled down trees.

In Cole County, several roads had to be repaired due to waters from the Moreau River.

Officials told ABC 17 News some flooded roads were even stripped of their blacktop and had to be resurfaced.

That happened at South Branch Road, Millbrook Road at Route D, and Mount Carmel Road near Highway 54.
