Missing Versailles teenager found safe
Police say the teenager who went missing in Versailles on Tuesday has been found safe. They haven’t released any information yet on where or when Kiaira Burris was found, or the circumstances in which she was found.
Burris, 16, had been reported missing after being seen leaving a McDonald’s in Versailles with an unknown person Tuesday afternoon. Later that night, Burris’ mother got a phone call from Burris from an unknown number. She was crying and sounded distraught. Then an unknown male came on the line and stated “I hid the body” several times before disconnecting.
On Wednesday, Versailles police confirmed Burris was last seen around 7 p.m. Tuesday at a home in Columbia. No one knew who she was with or where she was going .
At 2 a.m. Wednesday Burris’ mother got a text from an internet app saying she was fine and at home, but police did not find anything at the address.
The Missouri Highway Patrol originally thought Burris could be with Antonio Jerel Primer Jr., but have since determined he is not a suspect in Burris’ disappearance.
More information is expected to be released Thursday.
