Two charged for trying to sneak meth into Osage Co. Jail

Two people were charged for trying to smuggle meth into the Osage County Jail on Friday.

40-year-old Sammi Shockley of Vienna, who was in jail for drug charges, contacted 33-year-old Melissa Martin, who was about to serve time for a prior drug arrest.

Shockley made arrangements for Martin to serve her time at the same time as her, and while Martin was being booked into the jail, deputies found crystal meth and other illegal prescription drugs on her person.

Martin was charged with delivery of a controlled substance at a county or private jail, and possession of a controlled substance except 25 grams or less of marijuana.

Shockley was charged with delivery or possession of a controlled substance at a county or private jail.

Shockley has been the subject of numerous drug busts over the past few years in Maries and Osage counties.
