Cole Co. Commission discusses updating county website

Cole County Commissioners Monday discussed the need to update the county website.

Commissioners sat down last week with representatives from Civic Plus, a company that designs websites for more than 50 cities around the country.

The county’s website hasn’t been updated in a very long time, and everyone in the meeting was in agreement it was time for an update.

The new website would be cleaner and easier to use.

The website will have features like an interactive calendar for county events and increase accessibility.

ABC 17 News learned it will work much better on mobile devices than the current site, and commissioners said it’s just better all around.

Included in the $40,000 price tag is website maintenance and and an upgrade in 5 years.
