Police investigating armed robbery in north Columbia

Columbia police are investigating after two men were robbed at gun point in the north part of town.

Police said it happened just after 10 p.m. Saturday near Calico Lane and Willowbrook Road.

Officers said two men were walking in the area when a black man armed with a handgun came up behind them and demanded money.

The suspect took off with money in the westbound direction of Willowbrook Road.

Police said no one was injured and no arrests have been made.

A K-9 was called to the scene to help with the investigation.

The suspect is described as a black man around 5’8″ and 170 pounds. He was seen wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt cinched around his jeans and armed with a handgun.

Anyone with information is asked to call Columbia police or Crime Stoppers at 573-875-TIPS to remain anonymous.
