Tropical moisture & heavy rain update
Moisture will continue to lift to the northeast into southern Missouri through Friday as the remnant circulation from what was tropical storm Bill moves across southern Missouri. Periods of rain are expected through Friday evening with the best chance of rain south of HWY 50 becoming more widespread toward I-44.
Rainfall amounts up to a half inch are possible near I-70 but increase to the southeast where an additional 2 inches of rain is possible near I-44. Due to saturated ground from recent rain, runoff from excessive rainfall could cause flash flooding.
Rain will taper off from west to east through Friday evening as the circulation moves east. Drier air moves in for Saturday but another chance of storms returns Sunday.
