A warm front will continue to hover in northern Missouri Sunday afternoon, bringing more storm chances for Sunday afternoon and evening. A few spotty showers or thunderstorms will be possible Sunday morning, but more thunderstorms will develop in western Mid-Missouri as early as mid morning. Storms will become more widespread during the afternoon, particularly from 1pm through 6pm. Storms will likely weaken south of I-70 during the evening, but scattered thunderstorms will continue for central and northern Mid-Missouri into Sunday night.
There is a marginal risk for severe weather developing Sunday afternoon, which is the lowest risk category. The main threats will be damaging winds and heavy downpours causing flooding. The risk of a tornado is very low at this time, but can not be completely ruled out.
