Highway Patrol arrest two for DWI in checkpoint

Two people were arrested for drunk driving over the weekend after troopers held a sobriety checkpoint in Boone County.

The Highway Patrol confirmed eight people were arrested for misdemeanor drug charges, along with four on felony drug counts. They also issued 15 warnings.

A total of 371 vehicles were stopped between 10 p.m. Saturday and 2 a.m. Sunday.

One underage suspect was caught with intoxicants, three drivers had revoked licenses, and four people were not wearing a seat belt.

If you see someone who could be driving under the influence, officials say you can call *55 to report it.
