FBI agent gets probation for assaulting teen
An FBI agent was sentenced to one year probation and fined $367.39, along with 25 hours of community service, after putting a teenager in a chokehold in 2014.
Scott Armstrong was arrested in Callaway County after the 13 year-old lost consciousness on March 1 of last year.
Armstrong was found guilty of assaulting the minor during a bench trial in early May.
The boy had visible marks on his neck. He took the stand along with Armstrong, who never denied choking him.
At the time, Armstrong was also a part-time employee of the Boone County Cyber Crimes Task Force. He was put on a leave of absence for the investigation.
ABC 17 News has confirmed Scott is still employed by the FBI. He is facing administrative actions, but the agency could not specify what those are.
