Two arrested for home invasion and burglary linked to more thefts

Two people arrested for a home invasion and burglary in Boone County are being connected to other crimes.

Earlier this week, Abc 17 News reported deputies arrested Torry Hudlow and Tonya Wilhite.

Deputies said they believed Hudlow stole seven guns from a home on Wade School Road. And deputies later found the guns in a wooded area near the home.

Detective Tom O’Sullivan with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department said the investigation led deputies to more stolen property.

“At that residence where Hudlow and Wilhite lived, we recovered a pickup truck that had been stolen from the City of Columbia and a recreational vehicle that had been reported stolen,” O’Sullivan said.

Tuesday night, deputies chased a driver in a stolen Chevy truck. Inside that truck, deputies later found a wallet with Hudlow’s ID and stolen tools.

According to court documents, the next morning, deputies responded to a report of a larceny at Reed Heating and Air Conditioning on Business Loop 70 West. Abc 17 talked to the owner, who said someone broke into two work trucks and stole hundreds of dollars worth of tools.

Court documents said surveillance video showed a person, that matched Hudlow’s description, taking property from the trucks and putting them into the same stolen Chevy truck.

And in another incident, the document said earlier in the week, deputies responded to Hudlow and Wilhite’s home after a neighbor reported property damage. At their home, deputies saw a white truck and a 26 foot RV, both registered as stolen. Deputies found even more stolen items inside including tools and a TV.

“We also recovered a Bobcat,” O’Sullivan said. “There were all items that were probably stolen within the last week to 10 days.”

Deputies said Wilhite initially lied to them about the stolen goods, but later confessed she helped Hudlow store the items.

Hudlow is facing two felony stealing charges. And Wilhite is facing a felony receiving stolen property charge. The Boone County Prosecutor’s office said the two have not been charged for the home invasion yet, but they could face more charges.

Hudlow and Wilhite are both under supervision for similar incidents.
