Fulton announces new industry, dozens of jobs created
Fulton city leaders welcomed a new company to the area Thursday.
Iowa-based Henderson Products Inc. is expanding its operations to Fulton this summer.
The president of Henderson said it will bring up to 30 jobs to Fulton initially, and possibly more than that over time.
“Based upon their location, and their expectations of additional business, and their needs for additional workforce, it can do nothing but grow in this area and be a great asset for the state,” Terry Maglich with the Missouri Department of Economic Development said.
The company makes truck equipment, and will open its new facility in the former Missouri Packaging facility in the Fulton Industrial Park.
The president said they chose Fulton because of its accessible location between Kansas City and St. Louis.
Because of the ample workforce that’s available to fill jobs at the facility.
“We’re not only looking at Fulton, but at the surrounding area,” Fulton Mayor Leroy Benton said. “There’s 40,000 people here in Callaway County, and of course you triple that with Boone County and Cole County and in Audrain. So we feel like the potential for the workforce is there.”
The company employs more than 400 people and sells its equipment to local agencies like MoDOT and also internationally in China and Russia.
Fulton Mayor Leroy Benton said it has been several years since the city has welcomed a new industry.
