Manhunt in Boone County ends, suspect still on the run

A manhunt in Boone County north of Columbia has been called off and the suspect is still on the run.

Multiple agencies were searching for a person in a wooded area off Creasy Springs Road Tuesday night.

Police said they chased a man until he crashed the truck on North Creasy Springs Road just before 10 p.m. Tuesday. The suspect then ran into the woods.

Our reporter on the scene said there was a massive police presence. Law enforcement was seen carrying rifles and wearing tactical gear.

Authorities working the scene told ABC 17 News they believe the suspect is the man from a burglary earlier Tuesday on Wade School Road.

Police said the crashed truck was stolen just down the road from the burglary.

Police are not saying whether they know the identity of the suspect.
