One man dead after crash on Highway 54 in Fulton
ABC 17 News has confirmed an elderly man died after a crash Monday afternoon near Highway 54 and Old Jefferson City Road in west Fulton.
Investigators believe the victim was trying to get across the highway, before his vehicle was hit by a truck heading northbound toward Kingdom City.
ABC 17 News is learning the man who died was from Callaway County, and the other driver who survived the crash is from the St. Louis area.
Police said the driver who survived the crash was tested on the scene for alcohol and was cleared of any illegal substance.
He, his wife and infant child were taken to the Fulton Police Department for further questioning.
The elderly man who was pronounced dead on the scene was 92-year-old William Rogers, a World War II Veteran.
