Man robbed outside Columbia motel near the mall
A suspect remains on the loose after robbing someone early Monday in the parking lot of a motel near the Columbia mall. He approached a 43 year-old man around 1:46 a.m. at the Royal Inn Motel near the Red Lobster on I-70 Drive Southwest.
Police say he acted like he had a gun, before the victim handed over his cash and cell phone.
The robbery was reported about 20 minutes later, but officers failed to find the suspect. He is described as a bald, black man with a bright-colored t-shirt and dark-colored pants.
No one was hurt. If anyone has information, they are asked to call Columbia police or CrimeStoppers at (573) 875-TIPS to remain anonymous.
